Homemade Deep Conditioning Treatment

Homemade Deep Conditioning Treatment

The summer sun can leave your hair dry, dull and frizzy. A deep conditioning treatment is the perfect way to bring back shine and get rid of the frizz. Deep conditioning treatments from the store can be expensive and full of chemicals that are harmful. There are several foods you probably already have around your house that will do just the trick.

Eggs: Full of protein to help strengthen your hair

Avocado: Strengthens and shines hair

Bananas: Softens and moisturizes

Mayonnaise: Moisture and protein to strengthen hair

Yogurt: Softens and strengthens hair (not for use with oily hair)

Coconut Oil: Penetrates and conditions hair

Olive Oil: Penetrates and conditions hair

You can use any of these products separately or you can combine them. I like to use a combination for strength, shine and conditioning.

½ banana

½ avocado

½ cup yogurt

1 tsp. coconut oil (melted)

1 tsp. apple cider vinegar

Mix in food processor or blender and apply to hair after shampooing. Leave in for at least 15 minutes and rinse thoroughly with warm water.

Tips:

I like to let my hair air dry after using a deep conditioning treatment.

Rinse with a shot of cold water after rinsing out product, for added shine.

Do a deep conditioning treatment 2-3 times per month for best results.

For oily hair, use only on ends. Do not apply treatment to the scalp.
